Arrived at RMA at 7:30 AM. They called Tarzan back right away to provide his deposit. They called me back a few minutes later for bloodwork and ultrasound. All looks good, my lining is still a 9, not a 10, but that doesn't matter. A 9 will be perfect. I came back out to the waiting room and saw that Eggchick's car was there, she had arrived and was taken back to the surgical area while I was getting my ultrasound. Tarzan still hadn't returned from the deposit room, so I asked the nurse if I could go back and see Eggchick before her surgery. They took me back right away. As soon as I saw Eggchick the waterworks came out of nowhere. I stood there bawling and hugging her and saying thank you over and over and what a big day was today. I hugged her fiancee as well, because without him seeing our ad on Craigslist, we never would have found our beautiful Eggchick. We talked for a few minutes, me bawling the entire time. I was shaking too. Wow, those emotions just came on so suddenly, I wasn't prepared for them! I met the nurse and told her I was the recipient and she told me they would take good care of her today. The nurse told me we looked alike - I'm thinking well yeah if you don't look at the 20 pounds more than I am than her, and her tan skin compared to my white skin, haha. I told Eggchick that Tarzan and I would be there during her surgery. I then went back to the waiting room and Tarzan still wasn't back. Wow, he was taking way longer than usual (haha). Fifteen minutes later Tarzan came out and then we waited for the egg retrieval to begin. The nurse came out once Eggchick had her IV in, and then again when they were wheeling her in. Dr. Wolf came out to see us before as well. Then we waited, it was supposed to be 15 minutes, but we waited about 45. I kept thinking - well if it's taking longer that's because there are a lot of eggs. Finally Dr. Wolf came out just before 9:00 AM and had a big smile on her face. We got 15 eggs! I jumped up and down and said "Yipeeee we won the lottery". Then I started crying again.....very happy tears! We left the clinic and went to Home Depot and Sam's Club, and Eggchick texted me just after 10am to say she felt fine and was going to sleep. She is our Egg Angel and a wonderful person for giving us this possibility of becoming parents.
Tomorrow morning we will find out how many fertilized and how many embryos we are working with. I'm hoping for 10 embryos. Transfer will either be Wednesday or Friday, we are praying for Friday which means a 5 day transfer - more time to pick out the best 2 embryos. Hopefully we'll also have some to freeze.
I am going to take a nap now, I'm exhausted, but I know I'll have sweet dreams. Thank you everyone for all of your support, I really appreciate it!
