Fun weekend

Tony and I had a great weekend! We went to Cleveland Saturday and Sunday to visit my dad and his wife. They live in Brecksville, which is really pretty with lots of trees and rolling hills. My dad works at a furniture store and we get a big discount so we went furniture shopping on Saturday. Tony was looking for a TV stand for the new TV we will be getting soon, but couldn't quite find what he was looking for. I found a gorgeous china cabinet that I want, but I have to convince hubby to let me get it. Our dining room is too small to fit a china cabinet so it would have to go in the living room, which is plenty big. Plus the china cabinet is so beautiful it would look great with our living room furniture. We'll see. We did come home with a new comfy chair for my office. It looks like leather but is microfiber, super comfortable and ergonomically correct for my back. I didn't take a picture of the chair, but here is the china cabinet that I'm drooling over.

Saturday night we grilled out steaks and had cheesy potatoes, salad, asparagus, olives, and carrot cake for dessert. Hmmm good, but way too many calories. Sunday we went to brunch at Pier W. It had beautiful views over Lake Erie and delicious food...again too many calories. Here is a picture of Tony and I on the deck at the restaurant.

After brunch we said goodbye to dad and Karen and we went exploring in downtown Cleveland. We went to the Flats , Little Italy, and then to a park where we walked on the trails along the coast of Lake Erie. It was so nice to be outside walking in the sun and enjoying the beautiful views.

On Monday we went up to my mom's house in Marysville and had a BBQ with her and my sister's family, although my sister wasn't there - she's a flight attendant with Northwest and had to work yesterday. We grilled out chicken and had baked potatoes, salad, corn on the cob (delicioso!!!), and chocolate silk pie and chocolate ice cream for dessert. We celebrated my brother-in-law's 41st birthday, and had fun playing with my nieces and nephew. They are teenagers so Tony played volleyball with them. Again the weather was fabulous - 86 degrees and sunny with a nice breeze. We enjoyed sitting on the patio all day long.

So what does each day of the holiday weekend have in common? Too much food!!! The diet and exercise regime starts back in full force today!

Nothing new on the donor cycle front, I'll let you know when we have some news!

Fun! It's nice when life is more than just ultrasounds and shots, right? Love the pictures. And waiting to see a picture of the china cabinet in your living room!

I like the china cabinet - the wood on the bottom door is fantastic. Good luck convincing Tony on it.
(And in case you didn't know, food/calories don't count on holiday weekends.)

I love the china cabinet! I think it would also look great in a living room.

Reading about the food you ate this weekend, made me hungry :) Glad you had a good time.

Thanks for the sweet comment as always. Yes as of now, I'm still planning on coming Sunday. My doctor said just to take it easy, but I can still do stuff since I'm not too short yet. I have to be on bedrest for a few days after the cerclage, but then can do light activities like short shopping trips, going out to eat, etc. He said the same applies now, light activities are still okay. So I guess as long as I don't plan on having piggy back races with you guys or stopping afterwards to buy too many shoes I can come and am looking forward to it big time!
