Cat Fight Score: Female Cat 1, Alpha Male Cat 0 and trip to the Vet

My sweet little Claudio can be a total pest to his sister Pachi. He picks fights with her all the time, and she has never liked him from the day he showed up 8 years ago as a kitten. Well apparently she decided to teach him a lesson in their last cat fight. I noticed he was squinting about a week ago, and I did see a spot on his eye, however I thought it was improving. I came home Saturday night to find his eye shut and full of goop. Off to the vet we went Sunday morning. I was thinking he had an upper respiratory infection that had manifested itself in his eye - wrong! Vet took one look at his eye and said it was a puncture wound caused by a claw (that would be Pachi's claw). WARNING - GROSSNESS AHEAD. Doc proceeded to numb his eye and then scrape part of his injured cornea away. I thought Tony was going to pass out. I was holding Claudio down on the table and was not prepared to see that either! Yuck now I know I could never be a doctor or nurse. Anyway the Vet said he came this close to losing his eye, but that he thinks it can be healed. I am applying salve and drops to his eye 4 times a day, but in the meantime it looks totally gross. I hope he gets better soon. Here are some photos of my little fighter with his eye squeezed shut.

In other news, hubby flew to Mexico this morning for work, he'll be back Friday. We were supposed to meet with the social worker this Wednesday to talk about the donor egg issues, but that will be re-scheduled. I'll be doing my mock cycle in about a month from now. We haven't put down our deposit yet however. Tony actually got a job offer last week from a company that has insurance coverage for DE IVF (50%), however the overall compensation package wasn't high enough so he declined. Hopefully another offer will come soon.

Metro Detroit bloggers - our get together is scheduled for Sunday June 1st. Emily and I vote for lunchtime rather than dinner time, so around 1pm. Is that good with the rest of you? Tracy, Sara, and KC? Please vote for a restaurant on the poll. Emily did remind me that Kruse & Muir has brunch on Sundays so that may be a total madhouse. I am so looking forward to meeting all of you and getting to know you more!

That is a great time for us, too...we are staying near the Palace, and I don't know where any of these are, so just tell me where ya'll decide, and I'll figure it out. Then I have to find something for Scott to do for a couple hours. :) But since we're going down there so HE can go to the Tom Petty concert with one of his buddies, he'll just have to deal.

Yup, this date works great for me! I voted but I really don't care at all where we eat. I like all those places!

I can't wait to meet everyone!
