Weekend update

Had a great weekend and Mr. Tony won some major brownie points! Saturday we went to his cousin's graduation party for a couple of hours. Afterwards he drove me out to Harrison Township, also known as Boat Town, on the edge of Lake St. Clair. Houses line the coastline as well as the dozens of canals in the area. We parked and he turns to me and said "Are you wondering why I brought you out here?". I said well I thought you just wanted to enjoy the water since we were near here for the graduation party. He said, "I wanted to surprise you with a romantic sunset". He pulls out 2 lawn chairs from the trunk and plops them down right on the edge of the water. There were boats everywhere out on the lake, the breeze was warm, and the seagulls and ducks were all around. It got a little chilly but we enjoyed a romantic evening watching the sun go down. Now granted this lake is on the east side of Michigan, so the sun actually set over the parking lot, but hey, we enjoyed sitting by the water, cuddling and a few kisses. My husband does not do many romantic gestures, however once in a while he surprises me with a beautiful, romantic moment.

Today we went to church and I was hoping that Tony would get to stand up during the Father's Day blessing because on Mother's Day our priest had all of the godmothers stand up. However today we had the super-elderly, really needs to retire, priest and he didn't include godfathers. Bummer.

Afterwards we went to Tony's parents', the best-in-laws in the world - Mario and Enza, for a 98 course meal....well not quite, but let's see, here is the list of everything that went into my stomach during this meal:

Appetizer:
Olives, artichokes, carrots, mozzarella, tomatoes, prosciutto, a very large meatball, and my all-time favorite red roasted peppers in garlic, oh and of course Mario's homemade vino.

Pasta course:
Lasagna - Enza's lasagna has about 8 layers to it, and it is DELICIOSO!!! More vino.

Main course:
Lamb chop, steak, chicken, spinach, salad, bread, and vino mixed with pepsi so I don't get tipsy.

Dessert:
homemade cookies, custard/chocolate pie, fruit

Any guess on how many calories that was? We did see an adorable fawn in the backyard during our meal, he hangs out in Mario's garden - lays down on the onions while the mama dear finds food. He was sooooooo cute with all of his spots.

So that was my weekend. I'm going to go snuggle with my hubby on the couch!

Um, when I come up to meet you and Tracy I don't suppose we could go eat at your in-laws? I'm so full right now, but that sounds fantastic.
