I called in my CD 1 to nurse Becky this morning. This is for my mock cycle which is part of the DE IVF prep. I will go in on CD 3 for b/w and ultrasound, then I'll start on birth control pills for 2 weeks. Then I'll do low does lupron along with the birth control pills for 10 days, and then just the lupron for 7 days (I think....she was talking fast so not sure I got it all down right). I'll go in for periodic b/w and ultrasounds. The reason they do a mock cycle on me is to see how long it takes for my system to get suppressed and for my lining to be built up, so it's nice and plump. Once the donor starts the stims I have to be ready to roll. The donor can't wait for my lining to catch up, so the docs want to know now how long it will take me, so they can time it all. When the donor is ready for retrieval, my lining has to be ready for receival (I know that's not a word, but it rhymes!!!) ha ha.
No we don't have a donor yet, we haven't submitted our requirements list or our $ deposit. We'll do that soon.
In other news hubby called me this morning to let me know that Italy is playing Spain in the European Cup Soccer Quarterfinals on Sunday, so we will be going out somewhere to watch the game. He'll be wearing his Italia shirt and I'll be wearing my España shirt. We'll probably to to Little Italy in Windsor which means I'll be completely outnumbered and surrounded by Italy fans, but it should be fun nonetheless.

Have fun watching soccer and yay for starting the mock cycle!
I'm so excited for you, I hope using DE is the answer and it goes smoothly.
The soccer match sounds like a good time. You're very brave to wear a Espana shirt in Little Italy! :)
Hooray for starting a mock cycle. You'll be ready to rock and roll come September.
Sunday sounds fun, I've never been to Little Italy over there. Once things settle down a bit, J and I will have to head over to try it out. I'm so glad things are moving along nicely with your cycle. It sure does sound like timing is a big thing, but it sounds like they're watching things really close so that's great! I hope you're feeling well and have a great time this weekend!
Do you get to so mock injections along with your mock cycle? Like a syringe without the needle. That's be nice, eh?
I was thinking about what I would do in a situation like that - when I'd have to get my lining (from hell) all nice and plump. I'd probably have to have 3 or 4 donors lined up so when my lining was ready (or as much as it could be), one of the donors would be ready for me!
I really hope this goes nice and smooth for you and your body reacts exactly as it's supposed to!
I have to go back and read why you are going to DEs. I was with you through your IVFs and I've been reading all about the process of DEs, but I think I missed why you are going to DEs to begin with. I know you didn't make lots of eggs with your IVFs, but you did make a few each time and as I remember, they were in great shape, right? Is it that you just want to have more transferred than you have on your IVFs? Do you get to keep all the eggs your donor makes? So if more fertilize than you transfer, you get to freeze them?
Sorry for all the questions! I just thought about how I don't really know why you are going to DEs.
Nancy - we are moving onto DE because I will be 40 in September. After 2 failed IVFs it just doesn't make sense emotionally or financially to keep trying with my eggs. Plus I want more than 1child, so even if we did 5 more IVFs with my own eggs and I finally got pregnant for one kid......we'd need to do donor eggs for child #2 anyway. I just want to be a mom, I don't care if the child looks like me. I'm not that cute anyway. ha ha.
