Lisa - my amazing IRL friend

This morning I got the following email from my friend Lisa.

Hi Kel,
I have been thinking of you this past week. I attended mass at St. Anastasia last week. On the way out, I went to my niece, Emma’s bench outside the social hall building. It is right next to Patty’s. And I was talking to Patty and realized that she could really help you right now. Through her communion with you still, she can offer you comfort and support during this time of questioning and wondering about motherhood and children.

I talked with her for a little and asked her to really be present to you. I am praying for you and Tony often. I do not know what your future holds, but it is a future full of goodness!...right? Just like how God promised.

Love you, dear friend.
Lisa

To give you a little background: Emma is Lisa's niece who died as a baby from a heart ailment. I think she was 2 or 3 months old when she died. I've spoken about my friend Patty before, she died of breast cancer at age 34 in 2001. I met Lisa either right before or right after Patty died, and she was a great help to me for a couple of years as I worked through the grief. At my former church St. Anastasia, both Emma and Patty have memorial benches and they are right next to each other (how's that for coincidence?). Lisa didn't know Patty, and I didn't know Emma, but we find it curious that their benches are so close. Patty left behind 2 young children when she died and of course Emma left behind her grieving parents. Lisa and I find comfort to think that Patty is holding Emma up in heaven, and I am so grateful to God to have Lisa in my life. She is such a wonderful friend and has been so supportive of me as I travel on this current journey of trying to conceive. Thank you God!
