Tony had his conference call with Dr. M at 6:30 this morning and it went well! Of course Dr. M told him everything I had already told him, but Tony had to hear it from the doctor. He went over why he thought the last IVF failed with that other doctor(not enough eggs harvested, and not enough transferred). They talked about Tony's sperm issues and how the counts are going to vary week to week but at this point, there isn't really any sense in wasting time trying to get his counts up when his sperm works perfectly for ICSI. Dr. M talked about my age and explained that I have no other issues besides my age, but that we do have to deal with the finite window of opportunity. Tony mistakenly thought I had until I was 45 to have a baby using my own eggs. It's not impossible, but very unlikely. Dr. M recommends IVF over IUI because of the higher chance of success, so now Tony is going to think about it. Dr. M explained that we can start a cycle and then decide to do IUI instead of IVF, depending on how many eggs I have. I feel good about hubby taking some responsibility and talking to the doc. I'm sure we'll make a decision in the next week or so. In the meantime I went in this morning for my cycle day 21 progesterone bloodwork and also my infectious disease testing. I think she took out 7 vials of blood, but surprisinlgy I didn't feel like I was going to faint or anything. Now when Tony goes for his infectious disease bloodwork, he probably will feel lightheaded, ha ha! Nurse Tasha told me to make sure he eats before he goes in.
No matter what we decide to do next month (unmedicated IUI, medicated IUI, or IVF), I just feel a lot more comfortable at the new place. Nurse Tasha is super nice and she actually carries on a conversation. At the other place I didn't really like the nurse, I felt like I was treated like a number. So all around I'm feeling major positive vibes. We'll see what the next few months bring.
Okay to finish up I am including a picture of my friend Nancy's vacation home in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. She and her husband just finished building it, and as you can see it's GORGEOUS! I hope we get to go later this year. It will be available to rent, but I'm hoping that I can get the "family discount"...ha ha. I covered up the picture of her daughter in the pool in case there are any internet creeps out there, so that is why there is a blue box in the middle of that picture, but check out that view!

Wow! Can I go with you?
I'm so happy that you're more comfortable with the new clinic. I felt that way at IVF MI way back when, but now they know me pretty well, unfortunately. And I'm just so fond of my RE.
Anyway, I'm glad Tony had the conference call and got straightened around about the window of time. Good luck this next cycle...I've got all my fingers crossed for you.
That holiday home looks GORGEOUS!
Glad Tony spoke to the Doc. It really helps to have your hubbie "on board" with everything and taking a bit of ownership.
I use Schraft's....and I use follistim and menopur. The 900 Iu vial of follistim is $1254 and 12 75 unit vials of menopur are $598.80. I have prices for other stuff through them as well if you want more info. And it kills me that they are a part of Walgreen's and the prices are 1/3 of what Wlagreen's is.... Oh, and a 250mc/o.5 ML injection of ganirelix is $158. My email is eolavesen and it's a gmail address if you wanted to esmail me.
Hope this info helps!
