Visit to Lexington, MI

On Saturday May 23 Tarzan and I drove up to Port Huron to my store Backyard Soaps & More. My business partner Nancy and her husband Ted flew in from Connecticut for the weekend. Ted had never been here before to see the store since Nancy bought into it last July. It was great to meet him. We went to lunch at the Quay Street Brewery in Port Huron and enjoyed sitting on the outside deck watching the boats go by.

After lunch we drove 20 miles up the coast to Lexington since Nancy never gets out of Port Huron when she comes to visit. I wanted to show her some more of Michigan, especially a town on Lake Huron. I just love Lexington, in fact I'd like to open a store there someday. We'd do very well with the summer tourist traffic. We did give our cards to a few of the stores, maybe they will buy our soap and candles wholesale!

We walked out on the pier to enjoy Lake Huron. We had a drink at the Vintage, and then we had dinner at Smackwater Jacks - they have fantastic pizza. Lexington also has a fantastic theatre if any of you ever get up that way. Here's the link to the theatre .

One of my favorite stores there is called Noble Lexington. They have all sorts of cooking supplies, special dressings, jams, wines, etc. They also do cooking classes in the winter, someday I must go! They have a website, but I don't really like it - the store is much better in person.

Anyway - great day. Next up our trip to norther Michigan.

I, too, love Lexington. That is right before you hit the St. Vincent DePaul camp. I do scrapbook weekend fundraisers for them. I alos like eating at Wimpys!
