Saturday we went to my cousin's wedding in Marysville and had a great time. Saw a couple dozen other cousins and their families, aunts, uncles, etc. and danced the night away - the hokey pokey, chicken dance, macarena, cuban shuffle and you name it! I even got Tarzan to dance with me.
Today we went to mass at San Francesco Catholic Church over on the East Side because the priest from Pacentro, Italy (Tarzan's parents' home town) was here visiting. The mass was in Italian, but I was able to follow along on the guide. I understand enough Italian to be able to respond when it said "Tutti" or All on the mass guide. The priest is on a 2 week tour of several US cities visiting the areas populated by Pacentranos, in order to raise money to repair the church back in Pacentro. I'm not sure how many hundreds of years old the church is, but it needs some work and I think more Pacentranos live in the US now than in Italy. The priest is actually from Argentina, so I understood about 90% of what he said during the homily because his accent is way easier to understand, than all of Tarzan's relatives - LOL! After mass I talked to him in Spanish and he was excited to be able to speak his native language!
After mass we went to the cemetery with the priest and many of the people who were at mass because a lot of the Italians in Metro Detroit are buried in Resurrection Cemetery over in Clinton Township. I think some Italians must have built/own the cemetery because there are a bunch of huge, gorgeous bronze statues made in Italy and blessed by Pope John Paul II. Several of Tarzan's relatives are buried there in the mausoleum, so we visited their graves, and the priest did a couple of prayer services in the various buildings. It really was an interesting cultural experience for me today not only because I enjoy watching the Italians and listening to them speak, but because my family buries our loved ones in the ground, so this mausoleum thing is pretty different for me.
On the topic of DE, I'll know more when I go in on Tuesday for my saline sonogram, but if there really is a polyp; I am betting on a very big delay for the cycle to begin anew, unless by some miracle they can get me in for the hysteroscopy this week. You see Eggchick is going on vacation again June 10th for a week. Therefore if she doesn't start stims by May 26th, then we will have to wait until she gets back in mid June. They actually took her off the lupron that she had been on for 6 days and have her just on the BCPs. So if they have to re-start her lupron, I don't know if she'll have to be on it for 10 entire days before starting stims. If so, then we are screwed and will be waiting until mid/late June. I'm actually handling this all pretty well because really, what else can I do? Get all mad and have it ruin my mood? It's pretty clear that I cannot control any of this, it will happen when it happens, if it is supposed to happen.
Oh and regarding the boys names - yes I have a few picked out, but I'm not having the dilemma that I had with Gabriella for a girl. My boy list is as follows: Carlo, Paolo, Dario, Rocco and Leonardo (Leo). Carlo used to be my favorite, but I'm not sure anymore. I kind of like Leo and Paolo. I'm sure if/when the time comes I'll come up with some more possible boy names. I'm not as worried about them being too popular unless of course we move to Italy - which probably won't happen anytime soon.

Wow, you really seem to have some fun and busy weekends!
I'm so sorry that there might be a polyp! I'm praying that everything looks great on Tuesday and that you won't have to delay anything!
Oh, and I really like Leo and Rocco!
Well, I sure hope the polyp is either not in the way or can be dealt with quickly. But why can't Eggchick just take her stims on vacation with her? If she needs to go in for blood levels most places are close enough to a clinic she could get to one for testing.
Sorry things aren't going perfectly smoothly, but it will work out - just think zen thoughts!
Don't you just love the Italian culture? I haven't checked with the blog in a while...I had a polyp and they removed it, but it did delay things for about a month (I think). I just wish things could go smoothly for you!
