Tarzan and I had a great weekend - a bit cold, but a lot of fun. Saturday morning I went to yoga - the level II class, so it kicked my butt. Then we went to watch my 13 year old niece Emma play AAU volleyball in Rochester - uncle Tarzan loves to embarrass Emma while cheering loudly for her. After volleyball we went to our neighbor's for a 1st Communion party and had a total blast. They are a really fun Irish family, from Boston and Long Island (love their accents) and so the party consisted of lots of food and drinks and kids versus adults soccer games, etc. We met some neighbors we hadn't met before - one couple from Germany, one from Mexico (of course I practiced my Spanish), and one from the Philippines, and several others from the East Coast. We ate way too much, but had a ton of fun.
Sunday my mom came down and we went to my in-laws for a big Italian feast to celebrate Mother's Day. Even though it should be a day for my mother-in-law not to work, of course she loves to cook for everyone, so we had her delicious lasagna. Tarzan and I cleaned up so she didn't have to. His other siblings didn't help, but I'll assume that his sister came early and set the table - she is good about that. The other brother has the 2 kids so I suppose that is his excuse for not helping clean up. I just hate when we go over there and his mom puts on this big meal and then everyone crashes on the couch or leaves and she has to clean it all up! Okay I'll stop now - that's another post entirely. I don't get depressed on Mother's Day like most infertiles do because rather than focus on the fact that I'm not a mother, I choose to just celebrate my own mom. I'm very blessed to have the mother (and mother-in-law) that I do.
I went this morning for my bloodwork and ultrasound and all looks good. I will be starting to take the Estrace today and drop the Lupron to 5 units. The estrace should be fun since I have to take it vaginally - 2 in the AM and 2 in the PM. I'll be having blue goo come out of me for the next few weeks. All for a good cause!

Sounds like an awesome weekend!! Good parties seem so rare these days.
It's always great when you get to move on to the next step of your protocol. YAY blue goo!! ;)
PS- Thanks so much for your comment on my art blog, it means a lot that you read it!!
Blue goo, sounds so graphic! but as you said, all for the cause.
Glad you had such a fun weekend - and I'm with you, Mothers day is about my mom and I was so happy mine came to visit! Stock up on panty liners and let us know how it goes with the estrace. I'm so excited that I may only be a month behind you!
Ugh that you have to take the Estrace vaginally. I mean, I know we'll do whatever it takes, right, but why not in a pill form? I took pills...for months...and months...but hey, it worked.
yeah, that bugs me too: In Italy no one helps the mom when she has done all the cooking. but then again she shoos everybody out of the kitchen -- it's like her sacred space and she doesn't want interference.
plus when i wash the dishes after a meal she gets offended. it's like i'm sending her the message I don't think she washes dishes well enough so I just set the table which she hates doing.
go goo!!! good luck :)
Thank you Kelly & Tony for the lovely Mother's day! I enjoyed being there with you and Tony's family. Also, thanks again for the gift certificate and I look forward to spending the day with you when we use it. Instead of saying Go Blue I will now say Go Goo!!! Love Mom
