Weekend Roundup and Monday News!

We had a great weekend! Tony and I went to an Italian Festival with his parents on Saturday evening. Ate lasagna, Italian sausage and gelato! Listened to several Italian bands and did a lot of people watching. Tony was in heaven because there was a display of Maserati and Lamborghini cars. Wow, I didn't realize how expensive those cars are - holy tamale!

We slept in Sunday (sorry God we missed mass), and then went to Mario and Enza's for lunch - this time they didn't overly stuff us - just the typical steak, chicken, lamb chop, salad, broccoli, zucchini, and cookies for dessert. See? Not too much at all. I am excited that it is Zucchini season in Mario's garden! That means lots of zucchini sauteed in my homemade bread crumbs! About a dozen loaves of zucchini bread will be made over the next few weeks as well! Tony will be sick of zucchini before long, but I really like it, so I don't get tired of it. Now broccoli on the other hand - ugh I am so sick of it. I ate so much during my last IVF cycle that I could go without broccoli for the rest of my life.

Onto other topics. Went in this morning for bloodwork and ultrasound and after only 4 days on estrace my uterine lining was a beautiful 9! Yeah for my plump lining! However there is bad news - I have a suspected polyp that has developed (surely from all the hormones pumping through me), so I have to have a saline hysterogram in about two weeks to confirm the polyp, then if necessary have a minor surgical procedure to remove it. It shouldn't delay our plans to proceed with a donor. We are filling out our donor requirements list this week and putting down our $ deposit, so within a few weeks we should be matched with a donor!

Argh! I missed the Italian Festival... AGAIN!

29 years living in the area, half-italian (the good half, of course), and I've never been!

Shameful, isn't it?

Oh my. It sounds like you had a delicious weekend. All that Italian food! I'm starting to think the only reason I was skinny as a kid is that I'm Irish, so we just ate cabbage.
How exciting that you guys are getting so close! I hope the clinic comes up with some really great matches for you.

uhhh. my tummy felt full just reading that!!

I'm sure things will go ok with the checkup. If there is a polyp, removal is pretty routine and can be pretty non-invasive nowadays. Very excited about the upcoming donor match!!! and hooray thick uterine lining :)

I have heard the Italian Festival is awesome-it sounds like you had a great time! As for zucchini-I love it when it is fresh from the garden. It makes the anemic stuff from the store look so pitiful! Enjoy all the fresh zucchini you can eat-we all know it will be gone soon enough!

Sorry about the icky polyp problem, but I'm so excited for the rest of your good cycle news! I'll keep my fingers crossed that all goes well!
