She is like the Energizer Bunny, she just keeps going and going! On Tuesday at the hospital she didn't look very good - weak, sleepy, confused, etc. However on Wednesday she was up in a chair eating pumpkin pie (although she accused my aunt of giving her mashed potatoes, when in fact it was pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Apparently in the nursing home she gets too many mashed potatoes and now hates them.
She was discharged from the hospital yesterday afternoon and released back to the nursing home. Apparently the antibiotics knocked her infection out of the park, and the pneumonia is improving as well. She is definitely very frail, cannot walk without assistance, can't see hardly at all, can't hear, and her lucidity comes and goes. One minute she knows who you are and can have a conversation, and the next minute she doesn't have a clue who she is talking to, and she thinks it's morning when in fact it is evening, etc. However she is still very feisty and was able to enjoy her "doctor prescribed afternoon high ball" yesterday. In fact even on Tuesday at the hospital, the nurses gave her some whiskey! Cracks me up! When we were back at the nursing home I was helping her get dressed and she has a "pull-up" to put on and she yanked it out of my hands and said "I know more about these then you do honey". Yep, that's my grandma feisty as ever. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.
I was able to see my aunt, my cousin and her three kids while staying at my dad's cabin. I also picked a bushel of strawberries out of my dad's garden, so I'll make some strawberry jam out of them! Yum.
On another note, I went in for an ultrasound as part of my mock cycle. BC pills stopped last Sunday, I got a light period yesterday. The lupron has suppressed my system, and now I start on vaginal estrace morning and evening, and then drop the lupron down to 5 units per night. They will time how long it takes for my lining to build up. I think I'll go back in a week for an ultrasound to check my lining. The cool thing is that I have had absolutely zero side effects from the lupron. Yeah!

It is good to hear that your grandma is doing better. She sounds like someone I would really like.
I too had no side effects when I took lupron. I always felt so guilty about this because I've read from so many ladies that it put them thru hell. Wish you continued success and no symptoms, until you want them.
All great news!!!! I'm so glad your Gram is hanging in there and staying fiesty.
And I'm also very glad you aren't having any side effects from the Lupron!
It's getting exciting...are you ready?
So pleased your Grandma is doing better.
V excited for your cycle. Great news the Lupron isn't whacking you.
I'm looking forward to following this cycle xx
So glad to hear about your grandma's birthday and for her getting some whisky every now and then - those nurses rock! And so does your grandma! Your update brought a smile to my face and I'm glad to hear you're not feeling any nastiness from the lupron. You deserve some smooth sailing.
I'm glad your grandma is doing better! And boy, if I live to 99 I am totally going to have a doctor prescribed highball every day myself.
I'm so glad your grandma is doing better. Good news on your mock cycle too! I hope you continue to have zero symptoms from the lupron!
yay for grandma! She deserves a high ball at her age.
No lupron side effects?! No fair! Man, lucky girl!
Three thoughts:
1)Glad your Grandma is doing well. 2)So happy your cycle is moving along and that you didn't have the lupron side-effects.
3)A bit jealous that you know how to make jam.
I'm so glad to hear the your grandma Flo is hanging in there!! I'll keep praying for her.
