Yippeee....so I watched the video for the 4th time and took very detailed notes - step 1 wash hands, step 2 wipe down counter with alcohol, step 3 open Q cap, but don't remove from package yet..... lol. I wanted to do it correctly. Well ends up I had to give myself 2 shots because once I got the 6 vials of powder mixed up with the diluent...well it didn't seem like their was enough diluent in the syringe. So what did I do? Well I put everything in the syringe back into the diluent vial. Well then once I started filling the syring back up, I realized there was too much in the vial to fit into one syringe. Oops. So I ended up giving myself one shot, then filled up the syringe again and injected myself a second time. Oh well, I hope that doesn't mess anything up. Tonight I'll do it correctly.
So I yelled to my husband who was in the office on the computer that I had finished my first shot! He was bummed that I didn't wait for him, he wanted to watch. I told him that tonight he can watch. How funny. This is a guy who makes me turn the channel when I watch discovery channel because he can't stand anything with doctors, blood, birthing shows, surgery, etc. He must be getting a stronger stomach!
Wow, I have commenters! Cool. I haven't given my blog address to any of my friends or family, not even my darling husband. It's just kind of my little secret place to jot down all of my thoughts, and typing is much easier than writing in a journal. So welcome ladies out there in blogland! Nice to see another Michigander - Tracy - and good luck with your beta. Then another fellow 39 year old who was successful with IVF. Nancy you sound like you could give yourself an ultrasound with so much practice! ha ha. I'll be sure to check out all of your blogs today!

Great job on the shot! I'm sure you didn't mess it up giving it to yourself in two doses. No biggie.
I've heard great things about Fakih. One of my friends told me (when I was considering going to him) that I should start buying baby clothes, because if anybody can get you pregnant, it's Fakih. I ended up going to Shamma because he works with my doctor, and I really really like him.
Also tomorrow is my FIRST beta...haven't had one yet! Yikes!
Good job on the shot! The 1ml of solution will work on all 6 vials - although it doesn't seem like it at first. I found a couple of times I couldn't suck all of it up into the syringe and had to push it all back in again.
Good job!!! Tomorrow morning is ~MY~ first shot ever (to be given by myself) so I'm panicing a little. I know that once it's over, its not a big deal, but I'm admittedly a little freaked.
and yes, I can totally give myself an ultrasound. My RE still tries to point out what we're looking at on the screen and I'm like "duh.". :)
