Well I survived the egg retrieval. They got 4 eggs, 3 were mature enough, and 2 fertilized with the ICSI. Not spectacular numbers, but as the nurse says "it only takes one". However I am greedy, so I am praying that those 2 continue to divide properly into beautiful 8 cell embryos! We are on call Saturday through Monday for the transfer. The retrieval itself wasn't bad, I was amazed at how fast the anesthesia works - one second I was saying "wow this stuff works fast, the room is spinning"....and the next thing I knew I was waking up in recovery.
My hubby took great care of me yesterday and he is being very positive. I am definitely the one who struggles to stay positive, but I am really trying here. At work on Tuesday a peer of my manager who went through IVF gave me a St. Gerard holy card and a medal. She is such a caring person. I know this is all in God's hands and somehow we will become parents - maybe it will be now, maybe it will be in the future, but I have to just let it go and wait for it to come to me.

Great job on your retrieval!!! Can't wait to hear how the transfer goes. GROW embryos, grow!
Congratulations on your retrieval and many good wishes to those two embryos to grow and grow!
I had my retrieval the same day as you, and I'm still waiting for the embryologist to call with the fertilization results. How did you get yours so fast? I'm DYING here.
Kim - I tried posting on your website, but it konked out on me, maybe your server was busy. sorry your embryologist is taking so long to call you back. My nurse called me at 10:00 am this morning. Hang in there, with 9 eggs you are sure to have a ton that fertilize!
You have a great attitude. You are right, God will take care of this one day, one way or another. Hang onto your hope and positive vibes. I have my beta on Saturday following my first/only IVF. 9 eggs, 5 mature/fertilized, 3 grew and continued to divide, 3 transferred at day 3. So, you take what you get and go with it.
