2010 is here

Happy New Year everyone! Yes I'm a bit late considering it's the 10th of January, but better late than never. It's been a while since I've posted an update, so here it is.

I survived the holidays, in fact I had a great couple of weeks celebrating Christmas, New Years and spending 2 weeks with Tarzan. I survived Christmas Eve with the knocked up teenager. Thankfully my family did not make any announcements or toasts about it. They kept it pretty low key. Some of the other teenage cousins gave baby gifts to the mum-to-be, but they did it in the corner away from everyone. I appreciated that. She is definitely showing, and her boyfriend - aka baby daddy was there. He's actually a really good kid and hopefully will grow up and be a good dad with a lot of support from his family. I hope they do not get married and from what I understand have no plans to do so anytime soon. They are still dating, but thankfully not getting married for now. Anyway, the evening was quite a lot of fun. My family has kickass parties - lots of dancing, drinking, speech giving from drunk and emotional relatives, games, etc. Tarzan enjoyed himself as well.

Okay so onto the latest update about our TTC. I have decided to delay my FET until April or May because I want to take and pass my PMP (Project Management Professional) exam first. I'm studying like mad and decided I didn't need to be doing an FET while I'm stressed out studying. I've scheduled the exam for March 29th, so hopefully I can stick to that schedule and take it then. I'll start my April cycle around April 2nd, so can go into the FET then. I would imagine if I stick to this schedule, the embryo transfer would be around mid May.

We've received several responses to our surrogacy ad. I've weeded several out and we are down to 3 we are interested in getting to know more. One is in Michigan and we hope to meet her later this month. Another is in South Dakota and another in North Carolina. All 3 are really smart which excites me greatly. I want smart kids. I will probably post our ad again just to see if we get any other candidates. It is a slow process with Tarzan being in Chicago, but we discuss the ad responses and potential surrogates every time we get together.

I won't be having a baby in 2010, but perhaps I'll be expecting one. We'll see how the year progresses.
