Delay quantified
My donor called me this afternoon and we talked about when her class ends. It ends on May 22nd, so I told her to call the nurse back at RMA to talk about re-doing the schedule. We are probably looking at only a delay of 2 weeks to start the shots, but if it goes to 3 that is fine with me. I'm over my shock and anger from last night. We are meeting later this week to go over the contract, and yes we clearly should have done this earlier, but we didn't. I just had no idea that the donor didn't understand as much as she doesn't understand about this process. I've decided that I want to see her do a practice injection this week as well. Even if it is on an orange. I know the nurse taught her, but that was more than a month ago, so I want her to get a refresher and I'm going to be the one to do it. I'm also putting post-it-notes all over her medicine, so she knows what and when each box is used for. I'm taking no chances. That's the update.

Wow, I'm so impressed with your great attitude! I'd be killing the donor (which wouldn't really suit my needs) - but I love the post-it notes and the injection test! Good luck - can't wait to hear how it goes.
Smile.
Wine, anyone?
I think it's a great idea to have the donor practice injections. The post-its can't hurt either!! Your attitude is inspiring!
Good for you for having such a good attitude with things. It would be so hard to have gotten the news you did over the last couple of days. I would want to scream too. Here's to no more surprises and smooth sailing ahead! ((hugs))
Oh no! I am just catching up on my blog reading today and saw this latest development. That really stinks!!!
I am so sorry sweetie! What a PITA! I can't believe she didn't know enough about the process to realize there was no exact timetable...sigh! Yes, I can see how not being able to be in complete control of the donor would be so frustrating. Obviously you have so much more invested in this whole process then she does. In a way, it would be easier to have a donor familiar with IVF/stimming...but then again, anyone doing stimming has issues with infertility so obviously that doesn't work...grrr!
I think your attitude is great though! Just think...when you finally get that little one/ones transfered to you...you will be right back in the driver's seat again...whew!
Will be praying for you!
OMG, I'm so sorry for the upset you had yesterday!! You sound like you are definitely handling things really well and I think it's definitely a good idea to assume that your donor doesn't know much about the process at all.
Good luck with your meeting about the contracts this week!!
How disapointing, but how ver grown up of you to let he finish her classes! Maybe once she reads/signs the contracts it will all seem 'real' to her and she'll take it very seriously, she's pretty yound, right?
Sorry for the delay, I hope it's short though! Definitely give the donor a refresher!!! Good luck :)
