Mish Mash

Happy Spring! Although you'd never know it was spring in Michigan. It is cold and we are expecting 2-5 inches of snow tomorrow - oh joy.

I don't have anything really exciting or profound to write lately, the creative juices are not flowing. Hubby is in Toronto again, for the third work week in a row, but he comes home tonight. Tomorrow I get the day off from work! Yippeee! I actually have to find a new job within my company - my job is being offshored to Argentina. I'm not surprised considering that I work on the team that offshores work. I was told a few weeks ago and I updated my resume and sent it out to some people. I actually have leads, so that is good. I've been with this company for 16 years so i do think I'll be able to find something. I did tell my current boss that I will not start a new position before May 1st because of our upcoming IVF cycle. Thank God she was fine with that. Of course part of me hopes I get pregnant, I don't find an internal position, so she is forced to lay me off with severance. We'll see.

My mother-in-law made homemade pizza (2 different kinds), and bread this week, so of course I had to go get some and fill up our fridge and freezer. Her bread is just so yummy, of course it's with white flour and not the multi-grain like I'm supposed to be eating. It melts in your mouth. I have to learn how to make it, it's one of many Italian recipes I need to learn from her so I can keep them in the family and pass down to our children someday. We are going to their house for Easter lunch on Sunday. I'm going to make the Baileys cake for dessert, I know they will all love it!

Five more days until we know if the IUI worked or we are on the IVF adventure. All of my drugs arrived. Looks like this time I'll be on the PIO shots - yuck, yuck, yuck!

See....I told you, nothing too interesting to read right now. For those of you celebrating Easter this weekend, I hope you have a nice holiday!

As soon as my brain processed the words "Bailey's cake" I flashed back to the last post and started drooling.

It's freezing here too. More like Christmas than Easter.

Your MIL's bread and pizza sound yummy.

I hope your IUI is the one - those PIO shots are yucky.

Have a great weekend.

I second how here in MI it doesn't feel like spring...do you think we'll ever get out of the 30s for a high? I hope you have a great Easter with the fam...and the pizza in the meantime sounds yummy! I sure hope this IUI works for you...are you thinking of doing IVF right away if it doesn't? When would that put your cycle? Sorry for all the questions! Hope you have a great weekend!

Hi Sara. Yes I wonder if we will ever get out of the 30s. I can see all of these little girls wearing their spring easter dresses are goign to have to have long johns underneath on Sunday.

To answer your question - yes if the IUI doesn't work we go right into IVF, so my period should start next Wednesday (or Tuesday or Thursday), so I'll start stims on Day 3 which will probably put retrieval around April 10th. that is assuming I have a good antral follicle count. If it's low, doc will make me wait until next month. I'm hoping for at least 11.

Good luck! I hope the IUI is the ticket. I was wondering the same thing, if you would begin the IVF straight away. At least you don't have to wait around to start the next cycle if it comes to it.

Yuck, you have had a lot of snow this winter in MI!

I'm sorry to hear about your job being outsourced. I hope you find a new position you love!

Only four more days till you find out! I'm keeping everything crossed and really hoping you don't have to do IVF.

Hi!

I read a little of your blog, but apparently not enough because I am confused.

So, you did IVF and now you are now doing IUI, and then maybe going back to IVF?

Hopefully you are pregnant, and that is not the case, but I am just wondering.

Ya know, our stories are similar and I have always wondered if we should have even fooled with IUI, what with the morphology at 1%. There seems to be conflicting opinions between doctors.

Good luck to you! :)

Learn those recipes from your MIL! Those Italian relatives make the best food! My Italian hubby is a great cook thanks to watching his mom cook (from scratch!) for 7 people every day, all day.
