10 antral follicles

Had my CD3 ultrasound this morning and I had 10 antral follicles. I was slightly disappointed because I had 13 a couple of months ago but we didn't do IVF that month. However 10 is twice as many as the 5 I had in October on my failed IVF. Doc called and my bloodwork is perfect so stims start tonight. 450 of follistim (although tonight I'm going to use the Gonal F gifted to me by Maria! tks) and 15 units of HCG, and I continue on Estrace until Monday. I go back on Monday for bw and ultrasound.

I had some questions about whether I'll be on Lupron or BC pills. Nope! My new doc doesn't use lupron. In October when the other doctor used lupron on me, it suppressed me terribly - hence the 5 lousy antral follicles. My protocol with Dr. M includes starting Estrace on the previous cycle's luteal phase (which I've been doing for 11 days now), then go to stims - Follistim, and HCG. At some point they will add in Ganilirex which will prevent me from ovulating. I'm hoping for a much better outcome this time, meaning PREGNANCY!

I did the antagonist cycle my second time around, and did respond much better (with Ganirelix.) Let me know if you have any questions, and I'll try to remember how it went. :)

GOOD LUCK!!!

I think ten is perfect - that's how many my cycle started with and I ended up with 23 eggs retrieved. Only 14 were mature enough, but we got 7 blasts out of that. TEN IS GREAT!!!!

EVERYTHING crossed for you!

I think pregnancy sounds like an excellent goal to shoot for! And 10 sounds like a great first step :)

One step at a time :) try to not think about what if this round doesn't work... just go for it and so far it looks good! I always wondered what I would have done if the operation I had undergone hadn't worked... Thank goodness I didn't have to find out and I hope it turns out that way for you! Good luck!
