My intelligence took a vacation

We figured out what is happening. I haven't ovulated yet, but not sure if I will this month or not. Silly me thought I was supposed to keep taking the Estrace tablets that I started on CD21 of my last cycle in preparation for the IVF cycle. Then when I went in for my CD3 ultrasound and bloodwork, the doctor (not mine, the one who was doing the ultrasounds that day) asked me if I was taking my Estrace, and I excitedly said yes. Then when the nurse called me later that day to tell me what my FSH was, and how it was lower because of the Estrace......well I never asked her or the doctor if I should stop taking it since we weren't doing IVF this month. I don't know what I was thinking, but clearly the brain that went to the University of Michigan and Indiana University for a Masters degree....was on hiatus for the past couple of weeks.

Now we know why I haven't ovulated, which was confirmed by my 97.7 temperature this morning. I stopped the Estrace on the morning of CD13, so now the question is, will I or will I not ovulate? I had 15 or so follicles measuring 10mm, so will one of them now take the lead and start growing 2mm per day and become dominant? That is the question of the day and Dr. M said to just wait a few days and then start doing the OPKs again around Friday and see if I get a surge. Of course I'm wondering if I don't ovulate, well then when will my period come and will that screw up next month? Anyone out there have a clue?

I feel like such an idiot.

That is a very easy mistake to make - don't feel stupid. There are so many meds that it can get very confusing! I hope you still O...will they do any follow up testing?

Dr. M told me to do the OPKs for another week, and if it doesn't happen then I will call them for bloodwork. I'm just praying that I still ovulate.

I do not think you should feel stupid. In fact, I think I would be annoyed that the RE's office didn't make it clear to you that you needed to stop the med. GRRR! The good news is, your body is working A-OK, and now you probably just need to wait a bit.

However, I'm wondering if you're going to actually have a withdrawl bleed first, after stopping the Estrace (kinda like when you stop birth control pills during the placebo week). Hmmmm.

You're not an idiot...they need to be WAY explicit with instructions regarding meds...what do we know?

So not your fault! And the great news is you still have a shot this cycle!
