R got to our hotel around 11:30 and we went to Chili's for lunch before we did the nearly one hour drive to the lawyer's office in Arlington. The rain here has been just ridiculous and resulted in bad traffic. Tarzan was a great chauffeur! We spent about an hour at the lawyer's office while we initialed every page and signed a few at the end of the 57 page document. We started out with just the Admin Assistant Candace who was very nice, but then our lawyer Lauren came in to chat with us. It was so great to meet her and she is just as nice, smart and professional in person as she is on email and the phone. She's probably only 33, but has accomplished quite a bit in her law practice. She does adoption, surrogacy and divorce, but of course prefers helping build families more than dissolving them. She said she was happy to meet me because both her and Candace had commented that I was such a nice and considerate client! That was quite a compliment!
After we left her office we went to Starbucks and R and I had yummy coffees and we did some more chatting. Then we headed back to the hotel and I am now exhausted. The rain, anticipation and talking all day wore me out. However I'm very happy that our journey is moving right along. First insem will be tomorrow night. Stay tuned!
