We are back on, and I'm growing tougher skin

We are 100% back on even though Tarzan is a worry wort.  R explained that it comes down to the fact that the first OB doesn't know how to read ultrasound films.  When the Radiologist who actually knows how to read the films looked at them, he laughed at what the OB thought was a big deal.  R is not worried, so I'm not going to be either. However this was a lesson in me needing to be prepared for a roller coaster journey to a baby.  I'm sure there will be more bumps in the road and we just have to handle them with grace (and wine).

Tomorrow I have 2 conference calls with Texas lawyers. That's the other issue we've been having; we don't have a lawyer yet.  I spoke to an awesome MI lawyer last week, but at the end of the day we need to avoid doing anything in the state of MI due to their very unfriendly surrogacy laws. Basically if we paid a surrogate any compensation that wasn't "reimbursement of expenses" we could go to jail for 5 years.  We have a lawyer in IL we like, but that means moving officially to IL and Tarzan doesn't like his job enough to have to do so.  I called R's lawyer last week and asked her if we could just use a TX lawyer so that we didn't need to make a decision about relocating right away. She said she is pretty sure we can and sent me a list of lawyers who represent IPs.  I'm talking to 2 tomorrow and have one more if necessary for next Monday. I really like one of the ones for tomorrow, Lauren Duffer, as she responded very quickly to my emails and was very friendly.  She has also worked with R's lawyer before. I'll update tomorrow night after the meeting.

Oh and I'm in Chicago this week with Tarzan. I took the train out Saturday night.  I hate the hotel, but I love being with my hubby and this time I will not be cooking any steaks (thus setting off fire alarms).

Yay! I'm so glad this is back on. You're right, what a crazy rollercoaster ride you have embarked on.

As a scar tissue queen, I'm well versed in the subject. For me, the scar tissue was ~inside~ my uterus so the problem that existed was getting pregnant in the first place. Once that happened, it was all good. Actually, it being inside my uterus made me have a tiny bit more at a higher risk for placental abruotion, but we obviously got past that. With her scar tissue around her bladder, you (her) won't have any of those problems. And the radiologist seems to know this.

So what kind of timeline are you looking at?
