Long time no post

Yes I know, I've haven't much been into blogging lately. Here's a rundown of my life lately:

- The trip to the Merchandise Mart in Chicago was fabulous for my soap and candle business. We got 35 orders from new wholesale accounts. Yipppeee. We have been happily filling orders since we got back last week. We also landed a Rep Company to rep our product. They are only in the midwest, but I'm hoping it's the start of something and we'll add rep groups in other regions eventually.

- We are just finishing up our new website. I'll let you know when it launches so you can all go and check it out!

It appears that I may not be getting my job back at the Big IT Company (in light of updates received since I first wrote this post, I decided to delete the name of my company - for those of you who already know, fine, but in case there are any big wigs from that company reading my blog, I need to be careful). See this post that explains when/why I was laid off. Well even though my Staffing Request was approved 3 days after my old manager laid me off, I had to go through this idiotic "Redeployment Process". It was approved all the way to the CEO and he has sat on it for more than 3 weeks. When it wasn't approved 2 weeks ago I knew I was in trouble. My manager (the one who wants to keep me) has escalated it to the top leadership of our account, but so far no luck. It appears that Big IT Company is being very tight about approving the redeployments. I'm just a number at that level of this huge corporation. Friday January 30th is the day I will be officially separated if a miracle doesn't occur, which I'm not betting on. It's quite sad actually because I was saving the company hundreds of thousands of dollars in my job. I was very good at it and the client and my management loved me. I'm in this position because my previous manager didn't have the courtesy to give my new manager a specific warning that she was putting my name on "the list" for Dec. 1st. If she had done so, they could've escalated my Staffing Req so it was approved before Dec. 1st, instead of 3 days after. Ugh!! I could give the CEO several other names of people who are dead weight to the company and who should be laid off instead of me. I'm dealing with the disappointment and the reality that I will now have to look for another job. My dream job and being able to work at home for the past 6 years is over. Any of you know any companies who need a Spanish speaking Global IT Project Manager? My fear is having to take on some big job with an hour commute and lots of travel - which leaves me stressed out for when we do our donor cycle. Tarzan and I need to sit down and talk about priorities. I also need to pray for guidance.

- We actually met another potential donor whom we also really like, so we are having both girls tested at our clinic. We are leaving it up to our doctors to decide which is the better donor based on her medical screening. Testing should occur within the next couple of weeks.

Exciting news about the donor testing.

What about a consultant role? I'm not familiar with your profession, but it seems like there might be a need in a consulting capacity since it seems so specialized?

Glad to hear the soap business is going so well.

Have you heard from Kara? I'm worried about her.

Lots going on for you right now. The job change stinks for sure, but you just have to think there is something better out there for you.

Thinking about you!

The job thing is such a bummer. I hate when companies/people aren't upfront about things...I hate being in limbo, as I'm sure you do. At least you know now and can move in one direction or another.

Can't wait to hear about the donor testing! So exciting!

I'm sorry abotu the job thing. It's weird. You are a good worker, responsible person and then you run into someone who just totally eff's it all up.

I hope the screening goes well. How long does it take? What screenings? Genetic, Psych, medical? All three?
