Donor search update
Remember that advertisement that I took out to try to find our own donor? Well a month ago we had 4 candidates we liked, but that number soon became 2 because 2 of the girls just stopped answering my emails. It would've been nice for them to just tell us they decided they weren't interested, but whatever, that's what can happen when talking to strangers on the Internet. A week ago we were down to 2 and had plans to meet both of them. Yes I've come a long way from not wanting to see a picture, to now sitting down to meet them. Well the 2 finalists quickly became one because the young woman in Indiana apparently chickened out the day before we were to go meet her and stopped answering my calls and emails. Therefore we met the last one standing last night, she happens to be local, and we love her! She is the nicest, most personable young woman. She is exactly as she described herself in her application. She didn't lie about her height (I was afraid she'd be shorter than she claimed), and she was very articulate, artistic, Italian, energetic, ambitious, polite, 22 years old, and super cute. Both Tarzan and I like her. The only question about her is the fact that she has irregular periods. Ugh, why does that have to be the case? She only gets a period every 3 months. Her mother has the same menstrual pattern and gave birth to 2 kids, so apparently ovulation still occurs. We are hoping to at least send her to our clinic to be tested. The doc will be able to tell if she would be a candidate to donate or not. I really hope so because we like everything about her - and guess what? She has curly hair! Woohoo.

So exciting! Good luck...
Curly haired mini Tarazans would be perfect!
Keeping fingers crossed that all works out.
I am so happy to see that things are moving along! The donor sounds terrific, I hope it works out. :) Good luck.
Awesome! I don't know if I'd want to meet her, as I don't know if I'd want "her" in my thoughts ever, but ~totally not~ disagreeing with you meeting her! I'm excited about actually finding someone (possibly). Good luck on the testing!
Good luck!!!
Wow good luck. I would of wanted to meet her too, if not i would of always wondered what's going on. Hopefully your doctor to figure out her unusual periods, maybe she'll need some ovulation drugs and you'll have twins!!!!
Good to know you and Tarzan are back on the same page. Who ever said Men and Woman are 2 different creatures sure was right!!
Good Luck with everything, come on 2009!
Craziness...she's just what you're looking for. I can't believe those other women just stopped answering you...how rude! I can't wait to hear more...
Thanks for your nice comments on my blog. I am so glad to read that things are moving along with the donor. I know 2009 is going to be a great year for you!
Wow! that's great progress. I hope everything works out. I can't wait to hear more.
Very exciting news! Keep us posted :)
Wow! Pretty exciting news! Good luck with everything ... I'll be sending good vibes your way ...
Irregular periods COULD mean PCOS which COULD sometimes mean a LOT a LOT of eggs harvested! And therefore a lot of embryos! Good luck!
