Interesting Exchange at the Grocery Store

I was at Kroger on Saturday night getting some groceries and something very interesting happened.  I was in line with my cart two people behind the woman who was checking out. She had a 2 year old toddler in the cart and I heard her saying something about having had a baby boy on January 1st and that she was "done" because she had 2 teenagers at home, and this one (assuming she meant the toddler).  When it was my turn to check out the cashier and the cashier helping bag were chuckling and gossiping a little bit.  Then the cashier said to me, "that woman had a baby for someone else and she talks about it all the time". I said "you mean like a surrogate?" and the cashier said "yes and that lady is sure proud of that fact because she tells every cashier every time she comes in the store".  I assumed that the surrogate had talked to this particular cashier before and she said no she hadn't, but that she had heard all about her from the other cashiers. She went on to say "and she is even in her late 30s".  I started laughing to myself. I was going to say something about me using a surrogate, but the look on that lady's face regarding the other surrogate told me it was best to keep it to myself.  If I ever run into that surrogate again I'll have to introduce myself.

It was surreal and made me think the universe is sending me good vibes.

I actually had met a woman on Sunday that had twin boys via a surrogate. She was telling me that they used a surrogate from Illinois but that they didn't have to actually leave Michigan themselves. I told her a little about you too. Definitely good vibes being sent your way!
