Back from my blog vacation

Yes I know, I've been the world's laziest blogger. I don't think I've ever missed blogging for an entire month before - not one single blog in May. Sorry! I have just been crazy busy and couldn't be bothered to blog. Here's an update of things.

1) Surgery went well, they got the endo and I met with Dr. B to develop a plan. This month hubby and I tried on our own. My period is due on 6/15, so if a miracle did not occur, then I will go into an IUI. We plan to do 2-3 IUIs in a row and see what happens. If no pregnancy is achieved we will once again give up on fertility treatments with my own eggs and we will plan another DE IVF cycle. However our previous donor (whom our new doctor thinks is a good donor, just had a bad protocol) is out of commission for the foreseeable future. She is pregnant and due on July 1st. Do the math people, that means she got pregnant on the 2nd cycle after our failed DE cycle last July. You tell me she's not fertile? The heck she is. Dr. B believes he could get a lot more and better quality eggs out of her if he did a different protocol and didn't rush her stimming like he believes RMA did. On top of her having a baby in less than a month, she is starting nursing school full-time in September. She's doing a 2 year program, so I don't know if that means she'll go through the summer too, or just 9 month school years. Either way she won't be able to donate for us for quite sometime. Therefore if we end up the DE way again we'll have to get a new donor. I told Tarzan that I'm not going to agree that a new donor has to be Italian. I'll win that argument this time.

2) I've been doing an Endo Diet - essentially I've given up dairy, red meat and most breads. I'm supposed to give up gluten, but I still have cereal now and then. However for the most part I'm eating fruit, veggies and beans. I also gave up coffee and, am drinking loose leaf tea - mostly green, but some pu-erh and oolong. I also haven't had any alcohol in 2 months (maybe a sip here and there, but not even a full glass of wine). I've lost 11 pounds in 2 months, 15 pounds since last summer. I feel fantastic. I'm also drinking a protein shake called Shakeology that I got from a friend who sells it through Team Beach Body. I'm considering signing up to be a "coach" so I can get a 25% discount because it's not cheap. It is not dairy free, but it has the healthy whey isolate and hardly no lactose, so I think it's okay. I've also been working out a lot - I'm on a team that is participating in a walking contest at HP - our team came in 35th last week out of 1500 teams. I wear a pedometer all day long and I typically walk between 10,000 - 15,000 steps per day. I wear it up until I crawl into bed. I'm also doing a lot of yoga. It feels so good to lose the weight and I think it's a combination of all of the above. Time will tell if it also helps me get pregnant!

3) My 100 year old grandmother died on May 13th. She would have been 101 in September. Her cremated remains are sitting on my dining room table! LOL! I have to take them to the cemetery tomorrow. We are having a private memorial service next Friday June 18th which I am planning and delivering. Yep that's right girls - I will be acting as a minister. I have to get moving on finalizing it, but basically it will be a graveside service and then a luncheon afterwards for about 25 people. I will make sure it is a nice service and honors my grandmother's life. I have to come up with bible readings, poems, and a eulogy. If anyone has any ideas send them my way please.

4) My niece Blaire graduated from high school this past Sunday. We attended the ceremony and then went to a BBQ at her dad's house. I convinced her dad and my sister to put their differences aside and have one family party for both sides of the family even though they are divorced and really do not get along. Well they both came through and it was a lovely day. I'm so proud of them for putting their daughter first! I'll post some pictures on my public blog.

Well I think that is all for now. I'll get around to posting some things on my other blog soon - pics from my trip to Chicago, etc.

Yay! Thanks for the update! Your new TTC plan sounds great! I have high hopes! That is crazy about your donor though...wow! Talk about not wasting any time. Oh to be that fertile...sigh!

I am glad the diet is going well. I've been cheating big time on the alcohol and caffeine part but doing well on the no dairy, no gluten part. We are doing the opposite, ha ha!

Can't wait to hang out again soon! Once I'm done with this darn test, I will be a LOT happier!

Yay for awesome weight loss...please tell me what you're eating at each of your meals so I have a general idea.

Glad to see you hear again, my dear.

So glad to read your update...you sound like you're doing so well.

I'm sorry to hear of your grandmother, but how cool that you will be officiating the ceremony?
