Moving forward....sort of

Tarzan started his new job and I finally got a look at his insurance. Unfortunately his benefits offer NO infertility coverage other than testing; no coverage for IVF, IUI, etc. I was really hoping since the company is in Illinois we'd get a Free DE cycle; I suppose that was wishful thinking. Therefore Tarzan wants to seriously consider traditional surrogacy and he is ready to move forward and find a surrogate. I'm not quite ready to move forward as I think there is a lot more we need to consider; like in what state are we going to do this, will Tarzan have time to fly all over the country providing his specimen depending on where our surrogate is, etc.

We will do an FET for our 1 frozen embryo, and he said I could do that whenever I wanted to, but he doesn't want to wait until that is over to start down this path. We talked about the option of doing another fresh DE cycle, but Tarzan doesn't want to risk $30,000 when it might not work again. I don't really want to risk that much money again either. However surrogacy will probably cost a lot more, and I don't think he realizes that.

In January I'll call my doctor and talk about the FET. I don't think I'll be able to do a natural FET as my doctor had suggested because my periods have still not returned to normal; they are extremely short and light - only 2 days long. That tells me my lining is really thin and will probably need the estrogen to get up to a good level. Sometimes I wonder if I am starting perimenopause or something.

That's my update!
