Checking in

Not too much news, just working, living, getting excited for my cruise! Donor news - T is willing to look at some more profiles from our clinic even though he can't see a picture. (Oh yeah he asked that I take his personal information off my blog, um that's going to take forever to go through a year's worth of posts to remove his name and replace it with T.....I'm not removing his pictures however. Anyone have any good nickname suggestions for Mr. T?).

I sent a revised and shorter list of requirements to the DE coordinator yesterday so I expect a new profile later today. In addition we are meeting with her on Nov. 1st so T can meet her in person. I think if he gets the warm and fuzzies with her, and sees that she is a young, hip, pretty, and professional nurse, then he'll trust that she'll be able to pick out a pretty donor. Sounds superficial, I know, but it's a man thing - he is visual. It's killing T to not be able to see a picture. I know that eventually he'll get over it and I think meeting with Nurse B will assist.

I think what helped bring T around (meaning he is the one who has been bringing up the DE conversation), is that we babysat for our niece and nephew (aged 2.5 and 9 months) last Saturday night while T's brother and wife went to a wedding. T thoroughly enjoyed the evening, even though at one point our niece rejected T and clung to me all while I was trying to get the baby to sleep. T was able to see that I handled the 2 kids very well. It was so nice to rock my nephew and to be able to soothe him.

Okay I'm not digging using T to name my husband, I need a nickname. Anyone?

I'm glad he's coming around to your (the right) way of doing things!
I vote you call him Tarzan. It's very manly and makes me giggle.

got any favorite actors? You can nickname your hubby that name :)

Good luck with the new donor list. I can't imagine how crazy it would be to go through.

I'm bad at coming up with nicknames. Sorry, I wont be of any help.

Hope the meeting with the coordinator goes well. You have such patience.

I like Io's suggestion. Hilarious. What about naming him after an obscure or not so obscure movie character? Or a play on Soapchick, like "Dirtydude"? Ok, maybe that's lame, but you get the idea?

I say you go with Tiger. Glad he is coming around.

I like Mr. T and then I can picture him with a mohawk and all sorts of gold necklaces layered around his neck. Maybe he should come up with his own nickname...this is hard!

What you wrote about wanting to see a picture is interesting...I never thought of it, but I can see his point. Good luck...you'll make the right decision.

My standard name for all sterotypical italian men (NOT mafia men... there's a difference): The Italian Prince. You could call him TIP for short!

(And, I'm italian, so there's no need to be offended or anything! No disrespect intended.)

Hi just a lurker who thought of a name. I don't mean this in a derogatory way (I'm half Italian myself..)

How about a play on his heritage..

Guinea T (and a play on a tanktop)

Sorry...silly mood this AM.
