I woke up feeling much better today. Just have a little bit of swelling and soreness in my abdomen. I lucked out and haven't had any of the shoulder pain some women experience from the gas they pump in during the laparoscopy.
Dr. B called me today and told me that he found mild endo in two spots behind my cervix, which is where he figured it was based on the physical exam he did on me in the office. I asked him how long it had been there and he said at least a year or two. I didn't get too much into the timing of it with him on the phone, but I'll be seeing him for a follow up in less than 2 weeks. Of course I've been trying to get pregnant for 3.5 years. Does he think this is why I couldn't get pregnant? He says it certainly didn't help. However I almost wonder if it was caused by all of the fertility drugs I was on over the past 3 years. I don't know enough about endometriosis to know if this is something that I've had on and off all my life, or just as I've gotten older, or just because of all of the estrogen drugs I've had during fertility treatments. The good news is that it is gone now and he said it shouldn't come back for at least 3-4 years.
I asked him why the other doctors didn't bring up the subject of endo and he said that some doctors choose to just go around it with IVF, but he believes more in getting to the root cause of infertility first. He also put the dye through my tubes and they were wide open. Good news there. He said my ovaries look like normal 40 year old ovaries (ha ha), and I have a follicle this month on my left ovary that will ovulate next week. When I meet with him in a couple of weeks we will decide on a game plan. I'll hear what Tony has to say this weekend, but I think I'd like to do a couple of IUIs and then make the decision to do another DE cycle, or not.
Thanks for your concern my friends! I appreciate it.

Hey, glad you are feeling better! Did they give you general anathesia? I am having my surgery Tues but they are just doing a local.
Hoping this makes the difference for you, if you're up to it maybe you should get Tony to do the baby dance this month - who knows? I mean, why waste a perfectly good egg (one assumes)...Good luck!
I should have checked your blog first! So glad you are feeling pretty good considering.
I really hope this will help! I am glad you went with this guy instead so he could remove the endo! Amazing that no one ever mentioned this before.
I'm not sure if the drugs can exacerbate endo or not. I guess it's a possibility. Let me know what he says in the follow up!
Do you feel so relieved to have all that big stuff over with? Hopefully T is taking awesome care of you and spoiling you rotton! Unfortunately, I know how good of a nurse Mike is (not) and considering how much alike they are, I'm guessing not...ha ha!
Let me know if you need any pampering! I can swing by and bring you anything you need!
Hugs,
Kacy
Sounds like a pretty good dr to me. I've known a few women who have gotten pregnant right after this proedure, so take advantage of the egg about to mature.
Glad the surgery went well Kelly!
Yoohoo...where are you???
I really miss reading your blog posts! Give us an update on what you're up too!
BTW, how's the diet going?
